The oil in the Bible was likely made up of scented oils like frankincense and myrrh, as well as rose of Sharon. When we use the anointing oil in Jesus’ name today, our faith goes before us and we believe we will receive healing and protection by His Spirit.
We can use anointing oil in prayer by rubbing a few drops into our palms and praying for ourselves or others who may be sick or in need of healing. We can also place some drops on the door frames of our homes to remind us to pray for those within the household, or on car bumpers to protect those who are traveling.
